The Town of Drayton Valley is located 140 km southwest of Alberta's capital City of Edmonton, and 315 km northwest of the City of Calgary. The town is linked to a number of roads and highways leading in many directions.
From Edmonton south or the Edmonton International Airport, Drayton Valley can be reached by driving south on Highway 2 to Highway 39 (Drayton Valley/Leduc turn off) and then proceeding west on highway 39. Proceeding west from Edmonton on Highway 16 (the Yellowhead Hwy), turn off at the Entwistle/Drayton Valley sign - Highway 22 - and proceed south.
Proceeding from Calgary, two of the most popular routes are: traveling north on Highway 2 to Leduc and then turn west on Highway 39; the other is travel west from Calgary on highway 1 (Trans Canada Highway) to Highway 22, travel North on Highway 22 (The Cowboy Trail), until you reach Drayton Valley. |
